The kids all went back to school last week. I would say I was sad to see them go, but I wouldn't want to lie, so....
All the kids. Nate had his first day of gymnastics, so he was excited to wear gymnastics clothes.
Ellie started 1st grade. She was excited to go, and has been much happier now that school is back in session.
Adam started 5th grade. Here that is held at a different school called an intermediate school, his school has 5th and 6th graders. He was extremely nervous to go to school. He couldn't sleep the night before and every night for the first week we had to deal with his nerves as he worried about going to school the next day. Then last weekend we started hearing about how he didn't want to go back to school on Sunday, even though he didn't have school until Tuesday. This is a hard adjustment for him.
Michael is in 3rd grade. He admitted he was excited to go back to school. He likes school, he just HATES homework and writing. It makes it so I HATE homework and writing because it is difficult to make him do it.

Nate on his first day of preschool. He is going back to Ms. Sylvia's class this year- he will be at school twice a week for 3 hours each time. This is his last year at home, so I am really trying to enjoy my time with him.
And that is the official end to the summer. We had a great summer- we actually traveled a lot. Adam traveled the most- by the end of the summer he had gone to Alaska, Las Vegas/Southern Utah, Florida and Maine- pretty well traveled for a 10 year old (read spoiled). My favorite line of the whole summer- the boys were playing with a friend who saw a couple of books that they were reading and their friend said, with genuine amazement: "What...you read during the SUMMER?" That made me laugh for days. The boys love their reading.
