Thanksgiving Cruise

Instead of cooking a big meal this year, we went on a seven day cruise!  We went with our friends the Dibbs and the Shorrs.  We have known the Dibbs forever, and were celebrating that they were (temporarily) back in Texas, and we had just met the Shorrs over the summer.  We tried the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas cruise for 7 days.  Our destinations were Roatan, Honduras, Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico.

The kids really enjoyed having friends to interact with on the ship.

Adam mostly hung out with Max Shorr.  They were constantly running around the ship.  One of the things they loved to do the most was go on the very front of the boat and feel the power of the wind.

We got dinner reservations together.  They didn't seat us in a table that was big enough for all of us, so we arranged it ourselves.  We put the 6 adults at one table, the 5 littlest at the next table over, and the 6 teen/ tweens at the farthest table.  That seemed to work great for us, but I don't know that the waiters appreciated it very much.

We were on the ship for a day and half, and then we arrived at our first destination- Roatan, Honduras.  We decided to try out a resort there called Little French Key.  We rode a bus to a boat to an island that was very beautiful.

There was a nice sand beach with kayaks and paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment.  We rode a boat out to the reef to look do more snorkeling.  That was a ton of fun.

The next day we were in Belize.  It was super rainy.  We had hoped to go ziplining and cave tubing.  Come to find out, since it was the rainy season, no one goes cave tubing this time of year.  We decided to still do the ziplining, but the company that took us out was super disorganized and getting geared up was very frustrating.  It did turn out to be a great ziplining tour and all of us including the kids had a great time. Afterwards, we got an authentic type meal.

Our last destination was Cozumel, Mexico.  We opted to go to a resort that was on the beach.  They had kayaking, and a huge obstacle course in the ocean, beautiful sand beaches, and a pool with a water slide.

While the kids played in the sand, Joe and Michael went parasailing.  They said it was super peaceful.

 The last day, we cruised back on the boat.  The boat had a lot of amenities that made it fun.  Here is a picture of us at the front of the boat where the wind was super high.

 There was a rock wall that the kids (and adults) could climb up.

 A flowrider machine that you could attempt to surf on.  Only Joe and Ellie tried this.

 They also had a skating rink, although it was super small.
