At the beginning of the summer, Adam, Michael and Joe got to go to Alaska with my dad and brother. They went to Sitka, which is an island, and they went to go king salmon and halibut fishing. I sent a camera with Michael so he would take pictures, but when they came home there was only one picture on the camera from the trip. Apparently they couldn't find the camera when they were gone. Luckily, my father took a ton of pictures, so here are the highlights:
The first day that they got there, they only had half a day to mess around, so they went on a hike.
There was another day, when they got a chance to go hiking, so they enjoyed that too.
The next couple of days, they went fishing on the ocean. They got king salmon and halibut, and the next picture shows a link cod.
Here is the boat they went on.
The red one is red snapper. Joe said the fishing was actually really hard work. Michael got so tired that he went into the cabin one day and took a nap.
One day, Joe decided to live it up, so after breakfast at McDonald's they all had ice cream. They also had ice cream after lunch and after dinner. That was a special day for the boys.
While they were there they went to a bald eagle sanctuary. This eagle is too young to be bald yet.
They also went and saw some bears at a bear zoo.
The last day, they went fishing in a stream.
No one caught any, but Michael caught like 5. Go figure.
They had a great time (thanks Grandpa), but they did say it was very cold- the highs were in the 50s. What a great adventure for them!
