As soon as South State was over last fall, Ellie immediately started training for level 4. She did her first meet in January, but only had the skills to do floor and beam. In March, she did another meet but still only could do floor, beam, and bars- but she just started bars so she didn't score as high as she wanted. Then, once this fall season started, she was ready to do all four events!
At our gym, they have a policy that you start in a group called achievement where you do all the events, but you are not ranked against other girls and you don't get medals. You are allowed to move out of achievement when you get 2 36 all around scores or one 37. At her first two meets, she scored 36's and was able to quickly move into placement. Once she was in placement, she did really well- having all around scores that were above 37 several times.
Her best event turned out to beam. She did so well, that she came in 1st place in beam at State! We were so proud of her!
Since they do competitions by agegrous- she spent most of the season competing with these two girls- Lindsay on the left and Memphis on the right.
This is her at the start of the state competition. When they go to the state competition, everyone gets the same leotard in the same color to compete in. Its a bit tricky to pick our your daughter at the competition, but it makes them more anonymous for the judges.
This is her coach, Coach Becky! She has been with Coach Becky for many years now, and she loves her. Obviously, Becky does a great job with her, and so we are very happy to have her!
Here is a video of her on bars at the state meet. This was the view we had, people weren't inclined to sit down in front of you during the competition.
Her highest scores for this season were:
Vault 9.250
Bars 9.450
Beam 9.650
Floor 9.450
All Around 37.250
She had a great season. She has already started learning the skills for levels 5 and 6. She will start competing level 5 in February!
