At the cabin 2024

Joe could only stay at the cabin for one week this summer because he needed to get back to get to work.  Ellie only wanted to come for one week.  The first weekend that we were there, Clell and his family came and they had Ethan's baptism in Panguitch Lake.
Nate was able to come for two weeks, but we signed him up for FSY at the University of Utah for the second week, so he only spent one week at the cabin with us.  Partway through the week, we started to hear about a storm that was forming in the Gulf of Mexico.  Joe started to watch it and was worried that it would cause problems with his flight and getting home when he was supposed to, so he changed his flight and Ellie's flight to the day before.  When he was in town, we did lots of fishing.

We also did a little bit of four-wheeling and hiking with Grammie and Grandpa.

Nate and Joe chopped and split a ton of wood so that Grammie and Grandpa would have wood for the weekend.

When we got up to Salt Lake City to pick up Ellie and drop Joe off, Ellie's flight from Houston madie it in, but Joe's flight to Houston got canceled.  He was able to book a later flight that he hoped would be able to make it to Houston before the hurricane hit, but we had some time to kill while we waited.  We went to Park City and rode the alpine slide and hiked. By this point, we also had Nate's friend, Jacob with us because he was also going to FSY with Nate.

Joe did make the second flight and made it back in time just to be there for Hurricane Beryl.  Which was very intense for a very long time.  It tore the plastic sheeting off our back pergola and brought down several large branches from our trees.
We stayed behind and spent the rest of the day in Salt Lake going to the planetarium and then to a $5 sushi place. Then we dropped Nate and Jacob at FSY.  Ellie and I went back to the cabin.  We took it much easier at the cabin without the boys.  We did puzzles, went to a play in Cedar City.  We went to a presentation Grammie and Grandpa did at the church where they showed the pictures they took in Alaska and Africa.

After we picked up Nate from FSY, we had a few hours, so we met Kim and Kaiya Dibb for brunch for a few minutes to catch up before we went out of town.  It was fun!
