Since Joe had to work until the day before Thanksgiving and we had new fully furnished houses in Austin, we decided to spend the first part of the break in Austin. The first thing we did was a segway tour of downtown Austin.
In the morning, while Joe went into work, we went and hiked at Mckinney Roughs nature preserve. It was pretty and we could get all the way to the Colorado River. There was also a bluff where you could see all across the city and valley. It was beautiful!
The next day, we went and did an escape room. Then we went and did awkward family photos (look for a separate post for that). We successfully escaped in time!
We ate sushi downtown for dinner and then stayed in our own personal Airbnb.
On Thanksgiving, we went on a hike to McKinney Falls State Park. It was not much of a hike, but it was nice to spend time together and the falls at the end were pretty.
We thought we would easily catch a nice dinner on the way home to Houston, but we couldn't find anything open anywhere. We finally found a small diner called Katz's that was open and we ate there.
