When Ellie was deciding where to apply for college, she thought for sure she would apply to Texas A&M and University of Texas. From her grades, she would get auto-admitted to both universities, but then she would have to wait to see if she got into the business programs at each. She was pretty sure she didn't want to go to UT because some of her friends who were snobby about their grades were thinking they would go there. Then Joe got a job at Tesla, in Austin, and Ellie was sure that she didn't want to go to someplace so close to where we would be living. I decided she at least needed to visit the campus before she closed her mind to the option of UT. We went down in July to visit the campus and took a campus tour. She ended up really liking the campus, mostly because they had a nice rec center and a study abroad program. She also heard about their Kendra Scott entrepreneurship program and she thought that sounded amazing.
