After Nate got back from Nauvoo, we took a trip to Maine. It was planned as botha family reunion of Joe's family, but also a celebration of life for Steve, who passed away on November 1, 2022 from Covid. Nana had the celebration of life in a common area at her trailer park where there was a nice open area with pretty grass.
People brought food to share and they had a program where they talked about many of the wonderful things about Steve. The things that were mentioned the most were how kind Steve was, how he was a simple man, and how he was so good at unconditionally loving those people around him. After, we went to the cemetery where Steve's ashes were buried in a tool bag next to his family.
After that, we spent the rest of the week at camp. We swam, kayaked, boated and hung out togethere.
Ken made a hot sauce challenge to see who could eat the hottest sauce.
One day, we all rode boats, kayaks, swam or rode a canoe out to blueberry island where we had a picnic. It was a lot of fun.
The cousins had lots of fun staying up super late at night and doing crazy things like skinny dipping and also watching the stars.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip!
