At the beginning of track season, we had looked at possible track meets for Ellie and saw that there was one in New York right before spring break. We went ahead and booked a trip to go visit. As the track season progressed, Ellie decided not to go to the New York track meet, but we decided that we would still go to New York City and visit it for spring break. The first thing that we visited was Times Square. While we were standing there, a couple of street performers pulled Joe into their show.
We also visited the M&M store. It was super cold, that weekend and we all had lots of gear to keep us warm while we walked around outside.
The next day we rode the subway down to the Staten Island Ferry. We rode the Staten Island Ferry and saw the statue of liberty. We ate lunch in Staten Island and shopped at a few stores there.
On the way back we stopped at Wall Street and took pictures with the Bull.
Then we went and saw the 9/11 memorial museum. We spent a couple of hours there and it was quite amazing. Sadly, as we were leaving, Ellie mentioned that she somehow missed the whole museum part and spent most of the time sitting on a bench. She did learn that there were two planes that hit the twin towers on 9/11, but that may have been all she got from the whole experience.
That night we went and saw the Broadway play MJ, which was about Michael Jackson. It was fun to watch and the acting and dancing was amazing!
We got some ice cream in Chinatown even though it was freezing outside.
That night we had a yummy dinner at a 50's style diner. This was Ellie and my pot pie!
Then we went and saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It was so amazing!
The last day, we rented electric bikes and rode around Central Park. It was super fun except pretty quickly into the ride, Joe put his back out so he couldn't enjoy the ride.
Overall, it was super fun trip!
