Baby chicks

Ellie decided she wanted to become TikTok famous, and in order to do that she would need to get some baby chicks or baby ducks.  Joe said the kids could get some if they built a cage for them.  They worked together to design and build a chicken tractor.  The day after Easter, they went and got some baby chicks.  Ellie was so excited to have cute little chicks to make videos and take pictures with.  Joe was excited to have chickens as well.
After a couple of weeks, Joe went and got some other chickens to add to our first set of chickens that were supposed to be more docile and better egg layers.  A couple died, one got picked up by a hawk, but once I yelled at it, it dropped it, but it was too late.  Joe got really invested and built a large habitat for the chickens.  We kept them for about 3 months.  Then one day we realized that no one really was excited about the chickens anymore, they were destroying our grass and so we gave them away. It was a fun quaratine activity.
