Michael's 8th grade

The last day of 8th grade picture.

This year was super busy for Michael.  He spent a lot of time getting bitcoin miners up and running with Joe.  He learned a lot about computers from it, and ended up designing and building his own desktop computer.

And he built this thing:

He was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.

Then, after he joined the NJHS, he spent every Monday morning before school at Snyder Elementary school helping the teachers get prep time by monitoring the students on the playground.

He also helped me with serving Nate's football team.

He was on the FLL Lego Robotics team.  His team did so well in the group challenges that they advanced to regional competitions.

He was also super busy with percussion. He went to school one day a week for whole band practice, and another day for percussion practice.  By the end of the year, he became really good and he really really enjoyed it.  Some of his best friends were in the band.

He got his braces off.

And was in a couple of plays.

He also tried out for and made the tennis team. He got to play in a couple of doubles matches.

At the end of the year, he got a special award from the theater teacher, Mr. Ott for how well he did in theater.

This is him the first day of kindergarten and the last day of 8th grade.

It was quite an eventful year.  What I admired most about all of it was that Michael sought out and found all of those opportunities to do things and enrolled himself in them and made himself busy with them.  I am quite proud of him.
