Grand Oaks started a new tradition this year and had a Homecoming Parade. Ellie was able to be part of the cheer float, although she was also invited to be part of the track float. Michael was originally going to drive on a golf cart at the head of the parade, but then he changed and helped with the Student Council float. The cheerleaders had a float with the mascot and some of the cheerleaders on it. The rest of the cheerleaders walked behind and cheered as they walked. Ellie is easy to spot because she is the tallest.
Michael got the Joe to bring his dump truck out and the student council rode around in the dump truck. Everyone was super excited that there was a dump truck in the parade.
Check out the comment I got on facebook about it:
We were standing near the front of the parade route, and there was so much candy that was thrown at us, it was super fun. At the end of the parade, the student council had to go back and clean every single extra piece of candy and wrapper off the parade route, but I think they were so excited that they got to have the parade that they didn't care.
