Michael's junior started on a question mark with Covid. Cases were a little higher than the powers that be felt comfortable with, so school started online for a few weeks. Then everyone was allowed to go in person, but they had to wear masks everywhere. Luckily, we lived in Texas because many school districts in the country never opened, at least not for a very long time. When the school year started and I saw Michael's schedule, I was worried because he had 4 AP credits and one dual credit class. He also planned to continue working at Chick-fil-A. He was able to do all that with ease, he also got involved in several extracurricular activities and started brazilian jiu-jitsu.
One of the extracurriculars was robotics. His robotics team built a Lego robot and competed at a local rodeo. His team got 2nd place for their robot.
He got induction into National Honor Society.
He competed in the Mr. Grand Oaks competition. It was a lot of fun, all of the contestants had to answer silly questions, show off their talent, and have several clothing changes. He didn't win, but it was one of the most entertaining evenings ever.
