Nate's 11th birthday

Nate turned 11 on almost the last day of school.  For his birthday, he wanted Scholotsky's for lunch.  Then for dinner, we all went to Benihana's (except Michael who had band).

Nate is an amazing kid.  He loves to be  helpful- if he feels like he is adding value, he loves to be doing whatever you want of him. He likes to cook.  His favorite things to eat are sushi, Mediterranean pasta salad, and smoothies.  He keeps busy with playing the French horn in band, learning Brazilian jiu jitsu, and cub scouts.  He loves to play video games and watch informative videos on youtube.  He is constantly telling us about something new that he learned about recently. He is just starting to enjoy reading.  He really enjoys doing science experiments.  He has a pet axolotyl that he researched and then asked for for Christmas.  He keeps good care of the aquarium for the axolotyl.  He also is in charge of feeding Marley, and stays on top of that.  His favorite thing to do is to wrestle with his dad. He's getting good enough that Joe will have to call it quits when he gets hurt or is worried that he will get hurt.  Nate does well in school.  He especially does well in math, consistently getting the highest score on his tests in his class.  He is also good and enjoys his science classes.  He would prefer to never have English class again.  There are a lot of evenings that the three older kids are out with friends and we get to spend time with Nate at dinner, and we cherish those times.  I'm so glad that we have Nate in our family.
