Michael was in theatre tech class his freshman year. He liked that because he could help with lights and tech during theatre performances, and also because band took up so much time he didn't have time to practice and perform in any plays. They had a theater banquet at the exact same time as the band banquet, luckily in the next room. He got an award in band for best auxiliary tech.
