We didn't make any big plans for Thanksgiving this year. We had some friends invite us to go camping, but none of the kids really wanted to do that, so we decided just to go up to Dallas for a few days. We have to leave town in order to force the kids to do things with us instead of with their friends. We went up Thanksgiving morning, which was great because there was a lot less traffic on the roads. We ate at Luby's when we got there, (this was not at all great), then went to the movies. Then we went Black Friday shopping at an outlet mall that was there. The next day we did a little shopping, went bowling and mingolfing, and then went to a broadway play, Rock of Ages. I had previously googled if it was kid appropriate and it said the movie was, but it didn't say about the play. It wasn't very kid appropriate and Nate ended up closing his eyes a lot, but we all had a great story to tell after the fact. The next day we got up slowly and drove home. Within a few hours everyone had gone their separate ways to work, the ranch and friends houses.
Everyone seemed to have a great time and it was super great to get away from all the distractions for a few days.
